Pictured here is a good example of urban slaves quarters. It is located behind the Aiken-Rhett Mansion and still remains in its original unlived in conditions. Slave quarters can be seen all over Charleston and are now some of the most expensive real estate properties in the area. Slave quarters are usually referred to as "servants quarters," "carriage houses," or "dependencies."
